While Texas does not have a Red Flag law, this is what can happen when the legal theory behind those laws go into effect. We should all thank Brandon Masin for standing up for his rights and, by extension, the rights of all Texans and all Americans.
In short, possibly because Mr. Masin knows his rights and is prepared to defend and assert them, he has been accused of making threats. He has not been given due process, the right to face his accuser, or to be assumed innocent until proven guilty. The evidence of his innocence, both tangible and with witness testimony, has apparently been classified as “unconvincing” in the face of its volume and detail. He has been denied his liberty, his property without due process, and in violation of this public school’s own code of conduct.
Read the article for yourself. Then imagine that you are in the place of Brandon Masin and ask yourself what you would do. Then ask yourself what you will do to prevent anyone else from finding themselves in such an unconstitutional, even un-American, situation?
