
The study, published in the European Journal of Endocrinology, looked at 2,671 transgender male and female individuals in their early to mid-twenties, who were taking cross-sex hormones and based in Denmark, over a five-year period, according to The Telegraph.
Glintborg also warned that transgender people are at an increased risk for type 2 diabetes due to taking hormones but said that more research needed to be done on the subject, according to The Telegraph.
