What can we learn from the border crisis

The story is told of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Some have claimed that Joe Biden is fiddling while the southern border burns, but that would not be fair. After all, it’s not as if Joe Biden has done nothing about the border. He’s been pouring gasoline on that fire since the day he was inaugurated. And it’s not just a city that is burning, but the multiple fires are setting many of our cities and states ablaze.

Rather than waiting for Joe Biden to finally fulfill his oath of office, Texas has been standing up and doing what the federal government should have been doing.

This defiance of federal edict has not gone unnoticed by those in Washington, D.C. Biden and his Departments of Justice and Homeland Security have been finding new and interesting ways to punish Texas for their lack of subjugation. Now, other states are beginning to help Texas in their fight to protect their own borders. That’s a good thing for two reasons.

First, Texas is trying to protect itself from impacts not only in the Lone Star State but also in several other states. The unbelievable waves of illegal aliens impact all of the states in the union and their citizens as well.

In the midst of all this, people can either sit back and complain or do something about it. I know it seems like there’s nothing a citizen can do, but that is not true. We need to start by drawing our focus away from what we cannot do and instead focus on what we can do to protect ourselves, our families, and our republic.

Like many of you, I am a product of the public schools. Like many of you I thought the Constitution was for lawyers and judges. One day I read the Constitution, and was surprised to find I didn't need a law degree to understand it. Then I read the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers and even the Anti-Federalist Papers. As I learned more and more about our founding fathers and documents I saw how little we know about how our country was designed to work and how many people just didn't care. I started The Constitution Study to help those who also want read and study our Constitution.
