America’s largest organized crime syndicate

What comes to mind when you think of organized crime? Is it Al Capone and John Gotti, or Vito Corleone and Tony Soprano? If there’s one line that epitomizes the mob mindset, it has to be “I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse” from The Godfather. If you think about it for a minute, that sounds an awful lot like the federal government.

First, they bribed us and our cities & states, then threatened to take those bribes away if we didn’t comply. They offer us protection from their own threats to us. Whether you measure by territory controlled, people subject to them, or the amount of money they manipulate, there is no other organized crime family larger than the federal government. And just like other gangster organizations, you can try to remove the head, but another usually grows back. Or, you can starve them by taking away their roots on our own street corners.

Like many of you, I am a product of the public schools. Like many of you I thought the Constitution was for lawyers and judges. One day I read the Constitution, and was surprised to find I didn't need a law degree to understand it. Then I read the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers and even the Anti-Federalist Papers. As I learned more and more about our founding fathers and documents I saw how little we know about how our country was designed to work and how many people just didn't care. I started The Constitution Study to help those who also want read and study our Constitution.
