Catholic Hospital Forced to Provide Emergency Abortions After California AG’s Lawsuit

A Catholic hospital in California has agreed to provide emergency abortions after the state Attorney General sued the hospital in September for allegedly breaking state laws.
California AG Rob Bonta sued Providence St. Joseph Hospital’s Eureka location, claiming that the hospital illegally denied patients emergency abortions. Through the stipulation released Tuesday, Providence St. Joseph will have to comply with California’s Emergency Services Law (ESL), allowing its physicians to provide emergency abortions, according to a press release from Bonta.

Pennsylvania Judge Accelerates Elon Musk Giveaway Lawsuit, Will Hold Hearing on Thursday

A Philadelphia judge on Wednesday rescheduled and relocated a hearing on Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner’s lawsuit seeking to halt Elon Musk’s $1 million giveaway to swing state voters. Krasner sued Musk and his America PAC on Monday, claiming that its $1 million giveaway violated state law because it allegedly operated as a lottery. Under Pennsylvania law, all lotteries must be regulated by the Commonwealth.

Half of Gen Z Voters Say They’ve Lied About Their Votes: Survey

The Hill   Half of Generation Z’s voters said they have lied about their votes, according to a new Axios Vibes survey by The Harris Poll. Among the Gen Z voters in the survey, 48 percent said they had previously “lied to” those with whom they are close about which candidates received their votes, more than double the 23 percent of registered voters across all age groups that said they had previously done the same.   The survey took place Oct. 22-24, only a few weeks out from Election Day, which will follow a chaotic and heavily polarized campaign season. The 2024 general election brings with it multiple key Senate and House races, as well as a heated competition for the presidency between former President Trump and Vice President Harris.
