On May 25, 2023, Chief Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a court order to Verizon forbidding the company from informing Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) for one year that he had signed a subpoena requiring them to turn over metadata and toll-record information from the senator’s account with the company to a grand jury convened as part of the Biden administration’s Operation Arctic Frost.
