Like many of you, I am a product of the public schools. Like many of you I thought the Constitution was for lawyers and judges. One day I read the Constitution, and was surprised to find I didn't need a law degree to understand it. Then I read the Declaration of Independence, the Federalist Papers and even the Anti-Federalist Papers. As I learned more and more about our founding fathers and documents I saw how little we know about how our country was designed to work and how many people just didn't care. I started The Constitution Study to help those who also want read and study our Constitution.
Yes, there are issues in our country. There are several things that I am worried about, but only one that really makes my hair stand on end. We’ll ponder that next, on The Constitution Study.

There are times I weep for the state of our legal system. A perfect example is the case Jessup v. City of Fresno, where the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals said that the possibility that law-enforcement officers store significant amounts of money during the execution of a warrant was not covered under the fourth and 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

It’s considered impolite to say “I told you so.” But here I think it’s an important reminder of the need to know what legislation can do before actually making it law.
