Republicans in Congress led by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, introduced a joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment to impose term limits for members of Congress.
The amendment would limit U.S. senators to two six-year terms and U.S. House members to three two-year terms. The two-page resolution states that after the amendment is passed by Congress and ratified by the states, the amendment would go into effect “within seven years after the date of its submission by the Congress.”

New legislation introduced Tuesday in Tennessee would require the Tennessee Coordinator of Elections, Tennessee Department of Safety (TDOS), and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) to create new portals that will allow election officials to determine if voter applicants are U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote.
House Bill 69 by Majority Leader William Lamberth (R-Portland) requires the Coordinator of Elections and TDOS to "create a secure, electronic portal through which each county administrator of elections may access information to verify, prior to processing an applicant’s application to register to vote, whether the applicant is a non-United States citizen based on records on file."

Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives are planning to introduce legislation to abolish the controversial Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.
According to Fox News, Congressman Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) will introduce the bill, which has earned several prominent co-sponsors, including: Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Mike Collins (R-Ga.), Bob Onder (R-Mo.), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Mary Miller (R-Ill.), Keith Self (R-Texas), and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.).
