Call to Fire Tennessee Teacher Who Mocked Kirk Assassination Boosted by Sen. Marsha Blackburn, State Lawmakers Johnson and Reeves

The call for Franklin High School science teacher Emily Orbison to be fired for posting a "hateful screed" justifying the assassination of Charlie Kirk to social media on Saturday gained momentum, with U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Tennessee Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson (R-Franklin), and State Representative Lee Reeves (R-Franklin) calling for the public school employee to be fired. 
Orbison’s post about Kirk was first reported by The Federalist, which revealed the educator described the assassination as "rational" and "prudent." She mockingly wrote, “Guess there wasn’t a good guy with a gun there. Shame.”

Tennessee Colleges Fire Employees over Social Media Posts Regarding Kirk’s Assassination

Tennessee colleges took action against employees who made inappropriate comments after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated last week at a Turning Point USA event in Utah.
Kirk, who is the founder of Turning Point USA, was at Utah Valley University when Tyler Robinson, who lived with his transgender partner, allegedly shot him with a bolt-action rifle from a long distance.
