Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley on Monday introduced legislation that would send at least $600 to every American adult and child in the form of a tariff rebate check that is similar to pandemic-era stimulus checks.
Hawley co-authored the legislation creating COVID-19 pandemic stimulus checks in 2020, alongside Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, which provided Americans with up to $1,200 to help with financial hardships created by the pandemic. The new bill echoes the stimulus legislation.

President Donald Trump has accused Kamala Harris and her 2024 presidential campaign of violating federal election laws by allegedly paying millions of dollars to celebrities, including Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Al Sharpton, in exchange for political endorsements.
In a separate Truth Social post from May 2024, Trump called for a full investigation into whether the Harris campaign used payments for celebrity endorsements disguised as entertainment or promotional services.
