FIRST ON THE DAILY SIGNAL—Sen. Rick Scott is urging the White House to end the Optional Practical Training work permit program, which incentivizes employers to give jobs to foreign students.
The Optional Practical Training program, created in 1992, allows foreign students to remain in the United States to work for nearly four years after graduation.
Speaking Tuesday at a University of Kansas School of Law event, Sotomayor addressed Kavanaugh’s concurring opinion in a case involving immigration enforcement actions carried out by federal authorities in Los Angeles.
“I had a colleague in that case who wrote, you know, these are only temporary stops,” Sotomayor said, referring to Kavanaugh, who was not present at the event.
The 340B Drug Pricing Program was started to help safety-net providers, yet it fueled health system consolidation. Some lawmakers want to see it reformed.
